We have seen in recent years smaller businesses fighting hard to make themselves heard when it comes to marketing their products. SMS is ideal as it meets these requirements as well as offering the opportunity of a much higher ROI than, for example, marketing by post.
First and foremost SMS is incredibly cost effective, enabling SMEs to stick to their budget as well as reaching their target audience without having to compromise. Although price varies across different providers it is no more than a few pence per SMS sent; for example if each one sent cost 3.8p and you wanted to send a message out to 1,000 customers it would cost £38. If we compare this to using the more traditional method of DM by post the cost to send to 1,000 customers (which could include printing, time spent collating addresses, envelopes, delivery etc.) would inevitably be much higher.
