New Message Summary Report in e-txt

Dave Baddeley and James Bowditch

Here on the IT team we don’t get much time to blog but there is some new functionality in our e-txt web application we have been working on that we want to shout about. We are pleased to finally announce and release a new message summary report, offering a greater depth of analysis of all your SMS activity.

Knowing which messages have been delivered queued and failed are vitally important but we can now drill down much further and display all the information much more intuitively than before.

A quick overview of the last hours and current days messaging activity if now available; we now display delivery percentages as well as total volumes and our failure reason has been supplemented by much more detailed descriptions.

Unique to Dynmark we now give you the “Average delivery speed” which is the average time to the recipient’s mobile phone. The “Average delivery speed” figure is something that we are very proud of, not only does it give you reassurance that you are using a quality service, it also shows the benefits of SMS and mobile messaging in getting your message out directly to your target audience instantly. Please remember that the “Average delivery speed” also includes those messages that can take days to be delivered due the customers handset being switched off.

We have also introduced a function to search for messages sent between two pre defined periods of time within the last 3 months and view the results interactively, in additionyou can export the results that are returned to a CSV document (Microsoft Excel compatible). This message search facility can also tell you the content of each message and report status for each number, something that until now was only available in our top end Campaign Manager application. If you need to investigate what traffic you have been sending to a mobile phone number you can now do this easily using the message search facility as it allows filtering by mobile number.

Other great features are that we can now also give you a full breakdown of your previous 6 months purchasing history andwhilst trying not to brag too much, we have also introduced the facility to analyse your daily messaging activity in chart form so you can easily see trends across a period of time and how your messages delivered track against those that have failed.

These are all on live now so please go and take a look, any feedback you can give will be greatly appreciated.

The development does not stop there. We are constanty investing in improvements and enhancements to the summary screen, those arriving imminently include inbound message reports, page totals and details of the application used to send the message, and the ability to filter message searches by message status.
